Harvesting WheatgrassOur wheatgrass is grown in the USA and harvested without the use of pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilizer. Wheatgrass is planted during the Fall season, grows slowly through the cold of Winter and is harvested at a very specific time in the early Spring. This time is known as the "pre-jointing stage" when it is at it's nutritional peak. The Importance of SunlightOur wheatgrass develops normally in its natural climate. A dense root structure, combined with more than 200 days of sunlight, produce a plant that has extremely high nutritional value. Then the wheatgrass is dehydrated at low temperatures, stabilized and stored as a pellet. Pellets are then made into tablets and powder for human consumption. Read more about the importance of natural sunlight in our comparison of dehydrated wheatgrass and wheatgrass juice. Naturally Pressing Tablets and Grinding PowderThe tablet and powder form was choosen for the benefit and ease of absorption. There is no nutritional difference between the wheatgrass tablets or powders - the difference is personal preference. In our efforts to assure absorption, our tablets are not coated with a pharmaceutical glaze (shellac) like other manufacturers. Also, our tablets are not hard pressed, resulting in a very low hardness coefficient. ![]() |
